Ju-Li's Blog

My job as an artist Have you ever made the experience that looking at a picture puts you in a certain state of mind? Perhaps you stand in front of the picture and develop a feeling of joy, sadness, aggression or serenity. Often it's the things we see in a picture that stimulates us to think because they represent certain scenarios that generate emotions in connection with our experiences and our knowledge. This is especially true for realistic painting. Something similar happens with abstract painting. Here it is our interpretation that we create based on the colors, arrangements, painting technique used, etc. We associate dark colors in combination with red with sadness and aggression. Light pastel tones create a feeling of serenity and joy. As an artist, I would like to go one step further at this point and pursue the approach that in addition to the "obvious", the emotion that is stored in a picture also has an impact on the viewer. I am thinking specifically of the feelings, thoughts and emotions that the artist placed in his work of art when designing the picture. This may be a very daring thesis, but if you look at the laws of energy, this approach seems logical and correct. The word "energy" comes from ancient Greek and means "effective force". In yoga it is called "Prana" and in Chinese medicine "Qi". It's about the power that flows through everything. Furthermore there is the law of conservation of energy which expresses the fact of experience that energy is a conservation quantity, i.e. that the total energy of a closed system does not change over time. Energy can be converted between different forms of energy, for example from kinetic energy to thermal energy. It can also be transported out of or into a system, but it is not possible to generate or destroy energy. Conservation of energy is an important principle in all natural sciences (Wikipedia). According to this law, emotions that are stored in the form of energy in a work of art cannot be destroyed. This remains stored and is transferred to the viewer. Exactly for this reason I see it as my responsibility as an artist to charge my works with positive energy in order to bring more love into the world. Every brushstroke is charged with an emotion, every thought that I have during my work is stored in my work in the form of energy. If I work with dark colors and charge them with positive thoughts, I can have a positive emotion in the subconscious despite a mental interpretation of grief

Special Art Edition

"Ein Hauch von Rose" designed in Zusammenarbeit mit der Dormo Novo Naturbetten
Inspiriert durch den Duft einer zarten Rose entstand eine Handzeichnung in Julis Skizzenblock. Die feinen Linien und das Motiv ließen die Künstlerin nicht in Ruhe. Es wollte einfach mehr aus dieser Zeichnung entstehen. Wie einzigartig wäre es, wenn die Linien einen FREISITZ zierten?
